Guide for any other business

If your business is not on the list, start as a general business and choose the features you need in plain words.

1Day one: set up in about 30 minutes

  1. Open Stock and tap "Add product" for each item, or import your whole list from Excel or CSV. Give each item its selling price and, if you buy in cartons and sell in pieces, add both units.
  2. If an item is already on your shelf, enter its opening stock so WithOpp knows what you have today.
  3. Open Settings → Business details and Tax and TRA. Your name, phone, TIN and VRN print on receipts. VAT is added only when you enter a VRN.
  4. Open Settings → Features and turn on only what your business does - for example "Sell on credit" or "Buy from suppliers". You can change this any time; nothing is deleted.
  5. Open Team and invite the people who work with you. Each person gets a role, so a cashier never sees cost prices.

On the first day of a new business, Home shows a small "Finish setting up" list. When it is gone, you are ready.

2Make WithOpp fit your business

  1. Tap "Choose features" on Home, or open Settings → Features.
  2. Everyday features: track stock, sell on credit, buy from suppliers, record expenses, returns, customer orders and quotations.
  3. Special features for some kinds of work: appointments and commission, recipes, deliveries, production, buying produce, farm records, warehouse board.
  4. Turning a feature off only hides it - your records stay, and you can turn it back on any time.

Chose the wrong business type? The owner can change it in Settings → Business type in the first 30 days; after that WithOpp changes it on request.

3Selling at the till

  1. Open Sell. The first time, give the till a name and tap "Start selling" - this needs internet once; after that the till also sells without internet.
  2. Find items by scanning a barcode, typing the name or short code, tapping a quick button, or scanning with the phone camera.
  3. Tap "Pay" and choose Cash, Mobile money, Bank / Card or On account. You can split one sale across several payment methods.
  4. After the sale, print the receipt (58 mm, 80 mm or A4) or send it by WhatsApp or SMS.
  5. Serving a second customer before the first one is ready? Tap "Hold", then "Resume" later.

Sales made offline are sent automatically when the internet comes back. Anything unusual (a changed price, short stock) appears in Money → "Sales to review".

4End of the day and money

  1. Tap "Close the day" on Home. For each payment method WithOpp shows what should be there; type the cash you counted and the amounts on your mobile money and bank statements.
  2. WithOpp tells you "Balanced", "Short by" or "Over by" for each line. Save the cash-up - it is kept for the owner to see.
  3. Money you take for yourself, or put into the business, goes under Money → "Owner money". It is kept out of expenses, so your profit stays true.
  4. Record rent, salaries, transport and other costs under Expenses, so reports show the real profit.

5Knowing how you are doing

  1. Home shows today's work first: the main button for your type of business and the numbers for today.
  2. Alerts lists what needs attention - low stock, money owed, items expiring - each with one button to fix it.
  3. Reports shows today, this week, this month or any dates you choose: sales, profit and loss, top products and plain-language insights.
  4. On the Business and Enterprise plans, Reports also compares with the previous period, shows key numbers for your type of business, money in each account and advanced analytics.

6Your team

  1. In Team, tap "Invite team member", choose their role and branch, and share the invitation by WhatsApp or email.
  2. If you want staff to clock in before selling, turn on "Clock in before selling" in Team → Attendance. The owner is never blocked.
  3. Team → Performance shows sales and hours per person.
  4. Each person can lock WithOpp with a PIN when they step away (Account → App lock and devices).
